“She wanted love.” She wanted that person to join her in the corner of the closet, to hold her hands, to cry with her. She wanted her pain to be recognized, understood, to be acknowledged. She wanted that person to take her from where she’s been and transport her to somewhere new. She wants to feel new, happier pain. Pain of smiling so much. Pain of watching her children fall, confidence to pick them back up, joy of being that special, unique person. To be the only one who can fulfill that person’s need. Love is saying I’ll never break you down, and actually following through. Love is holding on and never letting go.
